It’s always great to find that a blog, especially one as prestigious as created in birmingham has featured you in their posts. Thanks goes to Chris Unitt for the exposure.

As with the New York post, I’ll be doing a similar project with photos from Boston and maybe other areas i visited. See how it goes.

I was in New York a few months ago and took loads of photos as you do. Since being back I’ve planned to combine the best into a book, specifically a designed photo album rather than just leaving them on my computer. It’s finally time i started It. Since getting back i was snowed under with Uni work and didn’t get round to it. I’m going to get stuck into it as of now. See what i can do.

New personal trainer in Birmingham required a business card that could also be used as an appointment card for clients. Simple and no nonsense. All hand made so I’m going to need a box full of blades.

It’s coming to the end of my degree life and my final project is focusing on global warming. I aim to raise awarness of GW and bring hard facts forward, not the boring statistics which we hear all the time but the little details we’re not told and which we are all involved with. I’ve started with a few posters, maybe not quite finals but certainly heading in the right direction. Maybe a tad to neat, would work well for other designers but whether the public think design like this works is another thing, they just want to quickly read and move on. Still early days, loads more to come..

Initial designs for the safety posters, still feel like there’s something not quite right, i don’t usually work with imagery like this so i have a funny feeling when i look at them, they seem very governmental and corporate but i guess thats useful at times especially when targeting an audience such as builders. I was hoping the font would lighten it up slightly…

A new brief as follows; Design a poster for protective gloves on construction sites. Looking at these pictures before reading this may lead you to think I’ve just gone bonkers and enjoy dressing as a builder to each my food in a park but there is method to this madness. The response I’ve decided to take with this brief is to overstate the point. Wear your gloves on the building site at all times, so this will depict a builder (me) wearing the gloves evening while eating lunch. Still at the early stages, not sure weather to use the photos or illustrate them, adding the construction site in the back at a later stage. I’ll try a few things and see how it all goes.

Just finished a short (10 second) animation focusing on the cotton industry in Uzbekistan and the crushing of a nation. My intention was to focus mainly on the corruption side of things, the Uzbek government and its exploitative organization. I made the film like a short propaganda advert welcoming you to the country and to their way of life, but instead of using warm and persuasive words of the good kind i flipped it and expressed what is really happening. Using words such as: A Slave Nation, Corruption, Arbitrary Arrests, Torture and so on i want the film, in its short time to get the viewer questioning what is meant with these words and the ending title of All are Welcome.
